 Late Maize with Samnaz39 Nation feeders, with great joy, I present to you, Sammaz 39 Maize variety.  Sammaz 39 maize variety💁‍! What on earth is that??? It is a very recently-introduced strain released in June 2016 embedded with potentials to make farmers smile broadly. Sammaz 39 is one of the first-generation of provitamin A-rich maize (that is why it has orange-yellowish colour, it is enriched with vitamin A precursors), it is open pollinated and reaches full maturity in just 70 days. It was developed by the Nigerian Institute of Agricultural Research (IART) and the IITA after almost 10 years of development and testing. Apart from the high yield, the fact that it helps battle vitamin A deficiency in children, breastfeeding mothers and pregnant women is a major plus. In addition to other uses, maize meals are very popular as a weaning food alternative in our country and that this variety has enhanced levels of pro-vitamin A (specifically beta carotene) is indeed ...
